Music Monday - 3 favorites from way back

Subdudes; Sonia Dada; Gino Vannelli

Morning all,

Going back a ways for these 3 groups/artist.

Subdudes - My great friend and bandmate and co-worker, Byron Walker turned me on to these guys. I think I bought 3 of their CDs. Awesome blues rock groove!!

Tired of Being Alone - On their Lucky album released in 1991.

Sonia Dada - I got their first 3 CDs after Kevin Tolliver turned me on to this group. They are from Chicago actually. They incorporate rock, soul, gospel and funk. Awesome tunes and vocals!! One of the founding members is Daniel Pritzker of the Chicago Pritzker family (as in Governor Pritzker).

You Don't Treat Me No Good - Off of their debut album in 1992 titled Sonia Dada. Written by Daniel Pritzker. Released in 2010 by country artist Jerrod Niemann and titled it Lover, Lover. It reached #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in 2010.

Gino Vannelli - A Canadian rock singer… I think I found him by hearing his songs on the radio. He had a big full sound and an awesome voice. I bought his 2nd album and then 5 others. His best charting song was I Just Wanna Stop in 1978.

Here is the song on the 2nd album that got me started.

Powerful People - released in 1974.
